At Antler, we don’t just talk about travel – we live it. Our Antler Travels series takes you deeper into the destinations that move us, guided by the experiences and recommendations of our team – travellers who’ve ventured far and wide.
Whether you’re there for a weekend or a full week, the Portuguese capital delivers: part getaway, part food pilgrimage, part slow city escape. Here’s our curated edit of where to eat, shop, and unwind – all road-tested by Laura, our Head of E-Commerce, who visited in spring 2025.

Laura's Lisbon recommendations | |
Eat |
Go here for fresh fish and vinyl beats. If you’re dining with a larger group, feast on the entire menu of Portuguese-leaning dishes and amazing fresh fish. A tiny natural wine bar with plenty of choice by the glass, it’s a great place for sampling and sipping to pass the evening away. An intimate restaurant setting with low lighting, and always electric vibes. Don’t skip the tuna taco – a firm menu favourite – or espresso martinis. |
Stay |
A bed and breakfast style hotel with beautiful, light-filled rooms. Their open kitchen and honesty bar make it feel like a home away from home. Quietly special. If you’re willing to stay slightly further out, put this on the wishlist for its relaxed vibe, pool, and on-site Spiritland bar – guaranteed for a good time. |

Shop |
Go here for beautiful, handmade ceramics with soul. Lisbon’s creative playground. Think indie bookstores, concept stores, street art, and open bars. Hop on the tram from the city centre to make the journey part of the fun. The pastel de nata institution. No Lisbon trip is complete without at least one. Pick one up mid-browse, and if you’re clever, bring a few back |
Unwind |
The perfect spot for having a coffee before, or during, a day of exploring the city. With a hidden garden terrace out back, it does the best pain suisse in the city. Leblon Beach Club (Costa da Caparica) For party-goers and sea seekers, book a table or set up camp out on the sand. It’s only a short trip from the city (approx. 25 minutes). Outdoor seating, natural wine, and quality people-watching. What more do you need? |
